Les élèves de 1L et TL de M. Guy BATTAREL, professeur d'anglais, se sont rendus à Rue Monnot la semaine du 22 octobre rencontrer l'artiste Louma RABAH.

Ci-dessous leurs impressions:

1)  THE FLAMBOYANT WORLD OF LOUMA RABAH

As Pierre Bonard said, "Color does not add a pleasant quality to design -- it reinforces it."

On the 24th of October, our class visited the spectacular art studio of a talented painter called Louma Rabah, who artfully masters abstract realism and impressionism.

Little did we know that her artwork would mesmerize us so much...

2) THE BRIGHT LIGHT OF BEIRUT

Bright, open minded, genuine, down to earth, these are the qualities that fit Louma Rabah.

As we had the chance to meet this artist, she showed us around her studio her art that reflects her personality. In our society, the majority believes that people like her can't make a living out of painting, however Louma broke our vision of this stereotype, as she was encouraged by her parents since her early age.

She mainly gets her inspiration from three artists; Pierre Bonard, Paul Klee and Kandinsky.

She uses very bright colors in her paintings such as yellow and blue, recreating Lebanon's landscapes in her own unique way.

3)  ESCAPING THE BLUES: ABSTRACT ART AT THE CORNER

Louma Rabah is a Lebanese artist born in 1980. She decided to pursue her dream to become a painter even though it was not well seen in Lebanon since it was said that you couldn't make a living out of it. Thus she decided to quit her job and become a full time painter. Her work is fully inspired by nature and Lebanese landscapes. Most of the time, she paints on the spot. However, her work belongs to the abstract realism and impressionism movement. Therefore, one can't really tell what the painting represents at the first glance.

4) A WORLD OF COLORS

Louma Rabah is a Lebanese impressionism and abstract realism painter born in 1980 in Beirut. She has been painting all her life, and studied Fine Arts and Graphic Design in LAU. She has had many exhibitions all around the world including Lebanon, France, Jordan, Dubai and Austria. Back in her studio in Ashrafieh, we got the chance to meet her and learn more about her incredibly lively art.
